Open Source Web Development With The PHP Environment

0 Comments 26 November 2009

The PHP and MySQL web development environment offers web developers a great open source platform for building web sites. Although there are a number of tools available to create dynamically generated web pages, PHP Web Development is very widely used. It is a reverse acronym that stands for Hypertext Preprocessor and was originally developed in the mid-1990’s by a programmer named Rasmus Lerdorf.

Although it has a similar syntax to Perl, the text is embedded with special PHP tags, so the developer can actually go back and forth between using PHP and HTML. This is convenient because it can decrease the amount of HTML codes that need to be written. Another reason that people use PHP with regularity is the fact that it can communicate across a number of networks using different protocols such as IMAP, HTTP and even POP3.

The original developer of the language was Rasmus Lerdorf and he created it in the mid 1990’s. However, it has undergone many different re-incarnations and version updates since 1998. These upgrades have become a popular reason why the use of PHP web development has become one of the favorites used by web page designers.

Its crude beginnings opened the door to an advanced program that can do multiple tasks. Since its creation, it has undergone many graphics and commands improvements and currently has five versions. Type of application used for web development can be used in almost all operating systems, and can be used on most servers. This software is usually free and can be found on the internet.

It can be used on many different types of servers and almost all types of operating systems. The free software has undergone multiple changes since its inception, and has a number of functions and extensions written into it. One of the known problems with PHP is security, although recent versions have tools enclosed to decrease the risks.

PHP web development is one of the many languages used by developers. Some are better used for dynamic applications, static applications or for web based usage. For more information, do a little research on the internet and download a copy.
